The GILL Team operates at a number of changing local sites. Current sites include a rain garden prototype at the Boys Choir Lot at 32nd and Poweltown, the rain gardens at PISB (the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building on Drexel’s campus) and a rainwater harvesting cistern at the Drexel Recreational Center.
The rain garden prototype at the Boys Choir Lot measures rainwater flowing through the site with soil moisture and scales. Find out more on the Boys Choir Lot site page.
The rain garden at PISB (the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building on Drexel’s campus) take water from the rooftop and surrounding sidewalk. Find out more on the PISB site page.
Underneath the Drexel Recreation Center is a cistern that collects and stores rainwater from the roof and outdoor plaza to use for flushing the toilet in the locker rooms. Find out more on the Rec Center site page.
